Fabiola Osorio Ph. D.
Principal Investigator firstname.lastname@example.org
Assistant Professor, ICBM, Faculty of Medicine, University of Chile
Howard Hughes Medical Institute International Research Scholar
Fabiola Osorio obtained her degree of Molecular Biotechnology Engineer from Universidad de Chile in 2006. During her undergraduate studies Fabiola worked in the laboratory of Maria Rosa Bono and Mario Rosenblatt on the mechanisms that induce the differentiation of Regulatory T cells by dendritic cells. Fabiola then moved to the University College London (UCL) – Cancer Research UK Institute for her PhD studies, where she worked under the supervision of Caetano Reis e Sousa, unveiling the role of C-type lectin receptors as novel pattern recognition receptors for fungi in the immune system. In 2011, Fabiola joined the group of Bart Lambrecht as a postdoc at the Inflammation Research Center-VIB-Ghent University, to further understand the contribution of the unfolded protein response in dendritic cell biology. In 2016, Fabiola was appointed Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBM), University of Chile. Her research line is currently funded by a FONDECYT grant and in 2017, Fabiola was elected as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) – International Research Scholar.
